Sisyphus T-shrit
$30.00
The idea for this shirt comes from a story that has followed Toro & Tides since the beginning.
The design is inspired by Sisyphus, the figure from Greek mythology condemned to push a boulder up a hill for eternity—only for it to roll back down before he reaches the top.
For Evan, co-founder of Toro & Tides, that story never felt like mythology. It felt like life.
Evan has Sisyphus tattooed on his tricep because the image mirrors what living with a traumatic brain injury can feel like. Progress is made, strength is rebuilt, and momentum grows—until the boulder slips and the climb begins again.
Since his injury, Evan has been through 19 different rehabilitation programs. Each one represents another climb up the hill. Graduation from a program doesn’t mean the journey is over. Sometimes symptoms return, setbacks happen, and the boulder rolls back down the mountain. And then the climb starts again. That cycle—progress, setback, rebuild—is something many brain injury survivors understand all too well. Recovery isn’t a straight line. It’s a climb.
This shirt captures that idea in a single image: a person pushing a boulder uphill.
Underneath it is a simple question: “What’s your hill?” Because everyone is pushing something. For some, it’s a brain injury. For others, it’s loss, illness, mental health, addiction, or rebuilding a life that changed overnight.
The message is simple: Keep climbing.
